Watch a shared game
A game of Rex Mundi is played on one computer, by its player and their coding agent, and can be sent to anyone as a single file. Here it plays back in the browser with nothing installed: its whole history on the same map, with the fronts, the ground held, the forces and the chronicle as the player had them. It cannot be played on here.
Watching one
A shared game comes as a link to this page, with the whole game written after its #g=, or as a .rexmundi file: drop the file on the map above, or choose it there. History opens on the first event and plays through; the arrows step, and Today shows the game as it stands.
Sharing one
In the game, the Load page's share mark offers "Copy a link to watch this game", with how long the link is, and so does the card at the end of a game; rexmundi-agent link prints one. The game rides in the link itself, packed small, without the game master's private notes. Nothing is uploaded: what follows the # stays in the browser, and this site never sees it.
A link grows with the game, by some 770 characters a turn: 5 KB for 5 turns, 17 KB for 20, 47 KB for 60. Browsers, WhatsApp, iMessage, Slack and mail carry links that long. Discord and Telegram cut a message at 2,000 and 4,096 characters, so there send the file. Past 64,000 characters, some 80 turns, the game offers no link at all.
The file is written by the share mark too, and by rexmundi-agent export. A file put where other sites may read it (the raw address of a GitHub Gist does) opens from a link as well, with its address after #timeline=:

What it needs
A browser that draws with WebGPU, on a computer: Chrome or Edge, or Firefox 141 and later. The map is about 38 MB and comes the first time. Most phones cannot show it yet, because the imagery is compressed in a format their graphics chips do not read. You can also open the viewer on a page of its own.
Playing one
A game of your own plays in the browser, solo, against the game master built into the game. To go on with one you were sent, you need the game itself: download Rex Mundi. A shared file opens there, from the Load page's Import, as a game of its own. Came from a clip? The play page has the three steps.
